G.R. Travel: Here to take you to paradise.

Where do I even begin, I was lucky enough to be apart of an amazing team of people, who created the short five minute video, GRTravel. In 2013, Lowestoft Sixth Form College, was a part of a collection of colleges around Suffolk getting together, with professional film-makers to inspire young minds about the film making process, while creatively inspiring young students.

Our Film G.R.Travel is about a young man, having to believe if he is dead or not. When a mysterious man turns up on his doorstep in a brazen suit, he informs the guy he is representative of G.R.Travel working on the behalf of Death. He wants to take him paradise, the young man is exported to the wrong location, a location revealing his past. As more information comes to light the man and the audience are left to decide whether he is dead or if he just had a vivid dream.

My role within the team, was co-writer, advertising, cinematography and general team co-operation. While, having a short cameo, within the short film, behind the scenes I liked to stay active, with one f my main passions begin writing, I also wrote a blog and ran the social media accounts. http://grtravel2013.blogspot.co.uk/ and https://www.facebook.com/G.R.Travel2013

Meet the team
The video, is part of my professional portfolio and is one of many.

The local paper did a write up of which it wrote, 'students had 10 weeks writing and making their films with guidance and support from Seagull staff. They also had a chance to get tips and training from industry professionals at a series of master classes.'  http://www.waveneyadvertiser24.co.uk/news/photo_gallery_young_film_makers_are_celebrated_at_seagull_theatre_s_awards_ceremony_1_2183363

Also, a short piece was written on Lowestoft Sixth Form colleges website about the awards evening, as we were nominated for 18 awards and won 8, http://www.lowestoftsfc.ac.uk/index.php/news/vision-film-festival

Small events like this bonds communities and is vital for the learning and development of social science, like media. Nowadays it isn't recognised as a 'proper degree,' why though? I mean its just as hard, may I dare say harder, because not is it only media, it is history, it is psychology, it is sociology and it is law.
